AN EVENING WITH ALASTAIR MACDONALDWednesday 20th October - Perth North Church
Alastair MacDonald has been a performer on a full time basis since 1970 & has built up a successful career not only in his native Scotland, but on numerous occasions has been invited to take his own style of musical entertainment to locations as diverse as America, Canada, Germany, Denmark, Israel, Thailand, East Africa & the Arab Emirates. Never one to be easily tied down to pigeon-hole categories, he is probably best known as "...the folk singing jazz banjo-player from Scotland..." except for those areas in which he's known as "...the Scottish jazz banjo-playing folk singer..." ! Alastair is a committed Christian and will weave songs and stories from a variety of genre during this fun evening.
STUART TOWNENED - coming to Perth North Church in 2011Stuart Townend is known and respected around the world as one of the leading worship songwriters and worship leaders of his generation. The depth of lyrical and theological content in songs such as In Christ alone, How deep the Father’s love, The power of the cross and Beautiful Saviour have caused some to draw comparisons with the greats of previous generations such as Watts and Wesley; while the marriage of great lyrics with wonderfully accessible melodies (largely through his successful writing partnership with Keith Getty) means his songs bridge different musical and cultural genres, and reach into every corner of the globe.
Pray with the Street Pastors before they go out on the streets. Each Saturday in the Upper Room, Tryst Building, Perth North Church - 9.00pm

At its meeting of 24th August the Kirk Session made the decision to sign-up for an exciting year of Bible exploration through biblefresh. What is it? Well, 2011 is the 400th anniversary since the publication of the King James Version of the Bible and therefore presents a unique opportunity for the Church to focus its attention on the Word of God. Biblefresh is a movement of churches, agencies, organisations, colleges and festivals which has a vision to reignite and re-enthuse the church in it’s passion for the Bible. For many in our churches the Bible has become tedious and toxic rather treasured, trusted and true. The aim of the Biblefresh initiative is to encourage a greater confidence and passion for Scripture across the Church. Click on the video opposite for some people's view of the Bible.
